Anna Miriam Junta, age 93, of Centennial, passed away on June 16, 2026 at her home. She was born on January 30, 1933, in Coal Creek Colorado, the daughter of Peter Bettelli and Teresa Cornali and the youngest of 7 children. Miriam married Anthony Junta on October 17, 1953, and they celebrated 62 years of marriage together before his passing on October 20, 2015.
Miriam is survived by her children, Nancy, Mary (Denis), Jimmy (Carol), grandchildren, Liana (Brad), Andrea (Conor), Ian (Courtney), Monica (Chris), Tony (Allison) and Christiana (Seth) and 11 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her six siblings, son in law Jim, and grandson Tim.
Miriam worked for the Littleton Public school district for 19 years, retiring in 1990. In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening, crocheting, and watching baseball (especially the Yankees). She was a devout Catholic who was strong in her faith and active in the parish community.
She cherished the time she was able to spend with family and friends, and loved to cook, especially around the holidays. Her signature dishes are her mac and cheese, peas and macaroni, polenta as well as potica. After retirement, Miriam shared her heart of gold with others through many volunteer projects and support of local charities.
Funeral Mass at St. Thomas More Catholic Church on Monday, July 6, 2026 at 11:00 am with a reception to follow.
