It is with profound and heartbreaking sadness that we announce the passing of Ayden Mark Washington, beloved son, brother, grandson, nephew, partner, and friend, who left us far too soon on June 6, 2026, at the age of 19.
Born on December 14, 2006, in Pueblo, Colorado, Ayden was the cherished son of Michele Schreiber (Salmans) and Andre Washington. From the moment he arrived, he brought light, laughter, and an unmistakable ornery smile that left a mark on everyone who knew him.
Ayden loved spending time with those he loved — going on drives in his car, watching sunrises and sunsets, fishing and hunting, playing board games, going to the range, and making others laugh.
Ayden is survived by his mother and stepdad, Michele and Sean Schreiber; his siblings, Conner, Lucy, Kamden, and Ella; the mother of his child and partner, Miranda Alarcon Martinez, and his daughter (arriving in October); his grandparents, Nevin and Jolene (Hess) Salmans; his aunts and uncles, Stacey and Jack Drury, Jennifer and Chanc Gomez (Micah, Ryder, Kash, and Colt), and Wayne Duncan; and many cousins and extended family. He is also survived by additional grandparents Fran and Don Custer, Bill and Anne Schreiber; great grandparents Ann and John Swearengin; aunts and uncles Danielle and Danny Gibbs (Kael and Kolter), Lauren Schreiber, Lacie and Darin Custer (Evan); and many great aunts, great uncles, cousins, and extended family and friends.
Ayden is also survived by his father, Andre Washington; his siblings, Branden, Amari, and Tristan; his grandparents, Cathy and Rodney McCree and Edison Arthurs (Beverly); his aunts Amber McCree and Audrea Washington; and many great aunts, great uncles, cousins, and extended family.
Ayden is survived as well by a family of friends whom he loved immensely.
He was preceded in death by his dear friend Ava Martinez, his uncle Branden Washington, and his grandmother Judy Schreiber.
A memorial and celebration of Ayden’s life will be held on Monday, June 22, 2026, at Olinger Funeral Home – Chapel Hills (6601 S. Colorado Blvd., Centennial, CO 80121) at 10:00 a.m. All who knew and loved Ayden are welcome to attend.
In memory of Ayden, the family requests acts of kindness, support for mental health awareness, and simply holding your loved ones a little closer — just as Ayden would have wanted. Though Ayden’s time with us was far too short, his impact will last forever.
“Love you to the moon and back.”
