A Colorado native through and through, Barbara was born in Denver, Colorado on April 17th,1942 to James and Marjorie Chaddic. She lived her life for adventure and devotion to family and friends. She cherished being a daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
The eldest of 3 siblings, Barbara grew up alongside her younger brothers Jim and Tom Chaddic. She was the most beloved little girl treasured by her family. As a teenager, she worked at the family-owned boarding house in downtown Denver. It was there she learned how to work hard and help those in need. Later, she spent the majority of her working life at Porter and Littleton Hospitals where she met her “work” family establishing lifelong friends.
While attending Mile High Academy, Barbara met her husband, Duane Becker; they married in April of 1959. They went on to have 3 sons: Barry in 1961, Brett in 1964 and Dennis in 1970.
Barbara was predeceased by her mother and father, husband Duane and son Barry. She is survived by her sons Brett (partner Mark), Dennis (wife Shelly), her grandchildren Courtney (husband Tom), Jeff (wife Miranda) and her great grandchildren Mason, Maverick and Maximus.
Creatively, Barbara had a passion for decorating her home for the holidays and with special themes every month throughout the year. After Christmas it was snowmen in January, then Valentines Day, St. Patrick’s Day and her favorite Pink Flamingos and many more.
She loved traveling and enjoyed many trips with family to Hawaii, Mexico, Jamaica and even St Lucia for her granddaughter’s wedding. Last summer, Barbara visited Glenwood Springs to relive a family tradition that started when she was around 10 years old. For a short time, she even lived out her dream of living in the topics in Florida; she loved the palm trees and water right outside her door.
Eventually, she came back to her hometown of Denver to be closer to family. She loved watching Broncos games and going out to dinner. From fine dining at Del Frisco’s to chillin' at Chili’s Restaurant, she could fit in anywhere as long as she had people and family around her.
Barbara, we love and miss you terribly. Our memories of you will help keep us warm in your absence. May you rest in peace.
