Barbara M. Wells passed away in her sleep on September 17, 2012. She was born in Alameda, California on September 15, 1920 to Hubert and Alicia Malone. She graduated from high School in 1938 and attended San Francisco State College. She continued her education as a graduate-nursing student at Highland School of Nursing, Alameda County Hospital, California. Upon earning her RN degree, Barbara spent two years as an officer in the United States Navy Reserve Nursing Corp, stationed in San Francisco. Barbara continued her nursing career in the San Fernando Valley of Los Angeles until her move to Colorado. While in Colorado, Barbara spent 30 years as a volunteer at Swedish Medical Center of Englewood, and was a life time member of the auxiliary. She is preceded in death by her husband, Kenna, of 59 years and one grandson. She is survived by her three children, eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Full military services will be held at Fort Logan National Cemetery on Monday, September 24, 1:00 pm, at staging area A.
