Ben Joslin Aycrigg

Benjamin Joslin Aycrigg, 66, passed away at home on July 29, 2026, surrounded by the love of his wife, family and dear friends after a cancer diagnosis in 2024. Ben was a lifelong Denver resident. He was married for 34 years to his forever devoted wife Ann Margaret.

From a young age Ben was car crazy! He endlessly educated himself about automobiles of all makes and models including trains, for which his dad also had a fondness. Ben and Ann Margaret were members of the Looking Glass Corvette Association for 25 years, owning a 1979 and 2013 Corvette. Ben served on several committees. They were also members of the Antique Automobile Club of America with a 1971 Pontiac Lemans GTO clone. Together they participated in many car club rallies, cruises, shows, and won awards for the 1979 Corvette and the Pontiac.

Ben shared his talents as a long-time volunteer at the Forney Museum of Transportation. He did mechanical work on vehicles in the collection and assisted with special events, displays, and shows. He never tired of the displays at the Forney Museum and hopes all youngsters and adults find it as amazing and educational as he did.

Ben received his high school diploma from Kent Denver School. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration in 1994 and a Master’s degree in Computer Information Systems Database Technologies in 2001, both from Regis University. Ben was employed for many years in computer programming and database management. In his retirement, Ben worked as a Task Rabbit employee and entertained his family with stories from the odd jobs he took on.

Ben grew up hiking extensively in Colorado with his parents and four sisters. He and Ann Margaret enjoyed hiking, mountain biking, camping and snowshoeing in Colorado. They also loved scuba diving and traveled to scuba locales including Belize, Honduras, Cozumel, Tulum and Zanzibar. To pursue their passions for travel and learning about other cultures, they visited Tanzania, the Republic of Georgia, Turkey, Austria, the United Kingdom, Canada and Puerto Rico as well as many trips and adventures within the US. Ben was an inquisitive learner with particular interest in nature, wildlife and automobiles. He was always finding ways to learn and explore and was an avid reader of any subject.

Ben was preceded in death by his parents, John Bancker and Marilyn Joslin Aycrigg. He is survived by his wife Ann Margaret, Bentley (micro-bernedoodle), and his sisters Victoria Aycrigg (James Bell) of Colorado, Maria Morgan (David Morgan) of the United Kingdom, Jocelyn Aycrigg (William Seybold) of Idaho, and Charlotte Aycrigg (Mark Zammuto) of Colorado, brother-in-law Arthur Dunlap III (Amy) and niece and nephew Lucy Kate Dunlap and Mason Dunlap of Ohio, nephew Patrick Dunlap (Vivian) and great niece June Dunlap of North Carolina, and nephews Thomas Dunlap (Victoria Czerwinski) of Maryland, Benjamin Morgan (Jessica Armett) of the United Kingdom, and Nicholas Morgan of the United Kingdom.

A celebration of Ben's life will be held on Saturday, August 22nd at 10:00 AM at Olinger Chapel Hill, 6601 S. Colorado Blvd., Centennial, CO 80121. Catered reception will follow. To celebrate Ben’s life, wear bright and happy clothes. Please let Ann Margaret know if you wish to offer a few memories of Ben at the service.
