Dear Sara, Jack, Dylan and Gary, 
Sara's amazing friend from Beacon Country Day is my daughter, Clare, who called us from med school to tell us your dear mother, Beth, passed away. Our family will never forget the genuine friendliness, warmth, incredible smile and contant generosity of your utterly amazing mom. Clare will never forget that Toby Keith concert and her description of how much fun she had with Sara and your sweet, fun, lovely mother. I am sure you've always known your mom was an absolute angel on Earth. Beth Rohr rests today and forever among them in Heaven, as she has surely made it an even more joyous place. Love Always to you all.

Dear Sarah, 

 I hope you remember me--we met a few times, the first of which was when you were about 16 years old. You, your mom, my son Patrick and I met at Panera--on the corner of S. Holly Street and Orchard Rd, in Greenwood Village, CO. 

 I then saw you twice, a few years later, about 6 months apart, when you were working at the Village Club, when your mom and I were playing tennis, with some other ladies. 

 I want you to know how much your mother loved you, every moment of everyday, throughout your life. I last spoke with your mother about 6 weeks ago. Every time your mom and I spoke, when I mentioned your name (or the name of one of your brothers)-- I always knew, by means of this sense I have that--a big beautiful smile broke out on your mom's face. Thought the ethereal space, I felt her intense love for all three of you.   

Our beautiful girl, gone too soon. Our hearts are broken. Our families have been friends for many years.  Paul originally knew Gary but then we all became friends. Beth was B1, and Bern was B2.  We have enjoyed many walks, talks, meals and wonderful family adventures together in the Rocky Mountains, Mexico and Australia. Beth planned these trips so thoughtfully and added her fun quirky flare to activities and events. Beth was always a good sport and willing to have a crack at anything  along with plenty of laughter (especially with the surfing lessons at Caloundra).  Beth was a generous and honest friend. Always so very thoughtful and empathetic to others  so good at reaching out and offering kindness. Not to sweep things under the rug, Beth was willing to ask the hard questions with kindness and helped her friends through difficulties  even at times when her own heart was breaking.  It is gut wrenching to know that her own sadness was eventually too much. 
Sarah, Jack and Dylan  Beth loved you all so deeply. She always tried to be the best mother she could for you. She will live on with you, and all of us, when we offer kindness to others, when we laugh out loud at the absurd, and when we reach out to friends old and new, and hold close those we love.  Our prayers, friendship and love are with you and Gary.  We pray our beautiful Beth, our smiling B1, is resting in peace and in the warm embrace of God for eternity.

I of course knew Beth all of her life as I was her aunt.  she was truly a lovely girl and one person  my family will always miss.  We all loved her dearly.  
we truly wish she could have lived a longer life.  I am sure she is with her mother in heaven as they loved each other so very much.  This is the only consolation we have.


Beth was a blessing in my life. She and Gary opened their hearts to my baby boy Dylan. I will always be thankful for all the blood, sweat, tears and love that she gave to Dylan. I will never forget the kindness Beth showed me when I was a 16 year old mom. Not once did she ever make me feel small and insignificant. I will miss her very much.

Beth and I met taking golf lessons together last August, and then discovered we had a love of tennis as well. She was so thoughtful, caring and patient . i will miss her.

Sarah and Jack - I am sorry for your loss and sad the world has also lost the kindest "mom-to-all" ever from your days at Greenwood Elementary.  She was always willing and always able to do whatever needed to be done with patience, with a smile that was so genuine, and she assured kindness and fairness were equally distributed to all the kids. Always remember how fiercely she loved both of you, and Dylan too as he became part of your family!  Surely the angels welcomed her as one of their own.  (Allison and Hunter send virtual sympathy thoughts to you.)

I was blessed to have known Beth in Steamboat Springs. She was a very special person in my life, and will be missed by many.

Having known Beth only briefly at the start of my career with Stonebridge, I still remember her from an awards dinner for the company. I had received an award and upon walking up on stage I remember seeing Beth walk towards me with her arms out giving me a big hug thanking me for everything. I knew her because of her relation with the company but I thought, wow, she actually knows me? I'm just managing a small hotel in Bothell, Washington. It meant a lot to me to receive that gester from her. May you Rest In Peace, Beth.

We are so sorry that Beth is gone and want her family to know that we saw her as remarkable.  We knew her as a neighbor, HOA board member, fellow parent, and capable community leader.  Beth was always intelligent, insightful, competent, and generous.  A great mind, she displayed empathy and humor, thinking always about her kids and her community.  Beth, may you rest in peace.  You impressed us and many others with your nuanced depth.

I feel blessed to have known Beth even for the short time I did. She welcomed me into the circle of Algers in such a warm way I could not have felt more like family. I will look to the stars to see her bright light for that is surely where she is shining now.

We met Beth in 1997 when we moved next door to the Rohrs in Highlands Ranch.  I will never forget the moment I first met Beth peeking over the fence talking to our daughter, Carissa.  She was so excited that there was a child living next door for her children to play with. From that moment on Beth became such an important part of our lives and a second mom to Carissa.

Beth was always there for Carissa.  She would always feed her breakfast every morning before school, take and pickup her up from school and take Sarah and Carissa to gymnastics and pom and cheer lessons.  Our lives were so intertwined that when the Rohrs moved away, we missed her daily presence in our lives.  However,  our friendship continued through the years even though we didn't speak daily.  When we did get together for lunch, birthday celebrations, Rockies game, shopping or movies, it was as if Beth  was still right next door. 

We took family trips together (Alaskan cruise, Jackson Hole, Wyoming, California, etc.). We shared so many impromptu events together from water gun fights to blizzard parties and dinners where they smelled something good and decided to show up for dinner!  Those were such great times for us..

Beth had a great smile and a real zest for life.  She was such a happy, loving and kind person and a great mom and loving wife.  
I could never be sad or lonely in her presence. 

A piece of my heart will always be missing now since Beth is no longer here.  Beth, I hope you are at peace now and I hope you know what a difference you made in everyone's life you touched and just how much you were loved and cherished by our family.

Our family was so sad when Beth moved out of our neighborhood two years ago.  Now we are incredibly sad that she has left our lives altogether. Beth really brought all the cul-de-sac neighbors together.  Our kids loved the pumpkin carving parties, Christmas gatherings & donations to all their fundraising activities!   We will always remember her smile, kindness and generous spirit.  Sarah, Jack & Dylan  Our hearts especially go out to you.  We hope that knowing that your mom was loved, respected and admired by so many brings you comfort.

Aunt B,
I didn't think this would be how I'd have to say goodbye. Aunt B was one of my favorite people. The amount of love and kindness she had for everyone was immeasurable. This is one very sad goodbye and I'll never forget all the great memories, our special lefty connection, our shared love for tennis, and how she ended every text or message to me with "hugs and love, Aunt B." I love you and miss you so much.

It's hard to know what to say about Beth. She was so caring and helpful to me in some very sad times in my life. I always looked forward to seeing what she was up to on Facebook and being fairly athletically uncoordinated myself, I lived vicariously through her adventures skiing and playing tennis. She always had a kind word from her kind heart. I know her family and friends will miss her greatly.

Beth had a true passion for everyone she met and made her children her top priority.  What other mom would actually wear a boy scout uniform and be the troop leader for her boys!  Everything she did, she did with heart and soul.  
I was involved with her at Greenwood Elementary on many committees and she was always generous and gracious with her time and money, especially for the schools her children attended.  She was someone we could always count on.  She dedicated herself to making sure her children were at the right schools, in the right programs and activities.  
She always had positive words to say to get others through difficult times.  She made EVERYTHING fun and festive.  
I truly hope that Sarah, Jack and Dylan can all look back to the time and energy she devoted to ensuring your childhoods were the best they could be.  She had your backs and spent hours researching the best of the best for each of you.  
Beth, your smile and sweet friendship to so many will be missed.  Rest in peace sweet friend.

I am so glad to have had a friendship with Beth, if only for a short time.  I so enjoyed her company and smile on the tennis court and at the pool, sharing a glass of wine on warm summer nights at the Village Club.  To Sara, Jack, and Dylan - I am sorry she left this earth too soon.  I cannot imagine how much you miss her.  Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time. I'm sorry that I am unable to attend the service today for Beth. I knew her from our Greenwood Village neighborhood, from having kids at Greenwood Elementary, and from the Village Club. Beth shined with enthusiasm and light. She was vibrant and warm, and seemed to always smile. She touched many lives in a positive way, and that's a wonderful legacy.

Beth had a beautiful, contagious smile and will be deeply missed!  Rest In Peace, friend!

Beth was a change agent in my life even if she did not know it at the time when I first joined her company many, many years ago at Stonebridge as a kid, fresh out of college. Her pioneering spirit, gracefulness, leadership and guidance made a deep and impactful on my own personal and business growth professionally.  I look up to her now and forever, for her beauty as a person and her strength, always. 

It is weird to reflect now, but I have thought of Beth often in all of my day to day experiences and it shows me how much she impacted by life by how she lived life and embraced it.  

I have so many stories and experiences with Beth but one thing comes to mind that I want to share was when 9-11 happened and we were all in a state of shock and dismay as everyone knows what happened to our country.  Beth came to each of us at the SBCOS office, giving us an American Flag, and took the time to sat down to talk with each of us, about the tragedy, how to process it and deal or what ever what on our minds in general and gave her heart and compassion to all of us.  I remember this as it was yesterday, she said' we will prevail'  That was just one experience of her passion for giving that I wanted to share. Grace.

I keep that sentiment for all that have been affected by her passing and hope for your healing. Grace.

Thanks for your kindness, your friendship, smile and laughter.  Our families met as greenwood parents walking our little kids through the zillions of activities in the neighborhood - soccer teams to ski trips - baseball to cub scouts (you as a den mother!) & your annual pumpkin fest and Christmas Eve's...
Each providing so many great memories. 

To Sara, Jack, Dylan and Gary - our front door is always open to each of you.

Beth and I met about 15 years ago through tennis, and immediately connected with each other.  She always played a level higher than I did, but our friendship grew despite this.  We soon discovered we each had a child with similar special gifts, and met for lunch occasionally with our children, hoping they'd get to be friends and support each other's unique strengths. During our lunches I discovered Beth's spirit for life, her universal acceptance of challenges which came her way, her great sense of humor, and her intense love for all three of her children with a dedication to making sure each child received the love, understanding, and education he or she needed.

As the years went by, sometimes many months would pass between the times we would see each other. But Beth had the kind of soul which became more caring and deeply intwined with her that of her friends' despite the passage of time.  She always had the ability to see past any weaknesses others might have, to the wholeness of each person.


Overtime, I shared about tragic life altering events I had encountered, before meeting Beth, and Beth shared stories about herself. Beth was more supportive of me than I could have ever imagined another human being could be. She expressed the strengths she felt I had because of these deep tragedies.   


When Beth faced some tremendous difficulties herself, I offered her the same love, understanding, acceptance and admiration which she had offered me. I also tried to offer some guidance along her difficult and rocky road. We worked together to keep going everyday, and to continue giving to others.

In our discussions these past few years about life, love and worldly topics, we decided that it was not happiness we needed in our lives, but a feeling of content with where we were, with what we could achieve, and with what we could do for others in the second half of our lives. We wanted to know and accept ourselves, and only then, we realized, were we able to touch others.  She sought solitude in order find herself again, in her own true essence which was indispensable in her developing web of understanding of human relationships.

Beth enjoyed her life, loved her family and friends, and most of the time was a very positive and content individual. I feel blessed to have been touched by Beth, her warmth was only enhanced any her life experiences.  

She was brilliant and accomplished, but lacked all arrogance.  She was perpetually smiling an infectious wide beautiful smile, showing off her beautiful teethand relaxed and casual, and all the time personable.  Beth was easy to like. This past winter, after her move to Steamboat Springs last year, she invited me to join her at her new home for skiing and tennis.  Unfortunately a bad foot injury mid December, which for six and a half months kept me housebound and unable to put any weight on my foot for many months, prevented me from joining Beth until this summer. 

 I've now been walking, on my own without support or crutches for about 14 days, and am greatly saddened I won't ever be able to make that visit to Beth, at her new home, in the Rocky Mountains.


My condolences to Beth's family of origin, her children and adopted family members. I miss you terribly already, barely believing our talk 6 weeks ago will be our last ever. Beth, I pray you are content now, without pain, and at peace. Fly free, with your beautiful spirit taking you to places you've only dreamed of until now.  When I feel a gentle wind, see the smallest most beautiful light reflecting off the snow or the sunlight on the open Colorado grasslands, and when I am touched by soft autumn rainI will think of you.

I met Beth 21 years ago when she interviewed me for Stonebridge Companies.  There was an immediate easy rapport, her sincere kindness was comforting. Beth's support, was instrumental in my professional and personal success. 
I looked up to her as a woman that put her family first.  She was an exceptional person and I am very grateful that she was a part of my life.

I met Beth after she moved to Steamboat Springs.  We spoke almost daily to report on our days.  When she was looking for a dog, I had her borrow mine to see if it would work. They fell in love with each other and Beth was in the process of making Robin hers on a permanent basis. She will be sorely missed in SS.

I was blessed to have Beth in my life for close to 10 years.  Beth treated me with kindness and love every day of those 10 years.  Her bright, sweet smile had a calming effect on everyone.  She loved and cherished her family and friends, and would always make sure we were always together with her thoughtfulness and generosity during holidays, birthdays, family trips or just a plain Saturday gathering.  I thank you Beth for your friendship and love, and your gracefulness.  I know God has brought you home and you are now at peace.  I love you.

Gracious, welcoming, energetic, kind, smart and fun! That's how I would describe my friend Beth. She welcomed me into her life 14 years ago when we moved to Greenwood Village. Our friendship blossomed when we won a Greenwood Elementary auction item to fly on the Rohr's private plane to Steamboat for breakfast and has continued every since. We shared our love for Colorado together spending time in the mountains skiing and hiking, and she was the one who encouraged me to start playing tennis. Her passion for tennis was contagious, both playing and watching professional matches, which we were able to do together in Palm Springs when we attended the Paribas Open. She was patient and encouraging with me and I can still hear her saying to me to bend your knees when I hit a shot into the net. Beth's spiritual journey led her to the church I attended and although she wasn't completely sure at the time if she wanted to be there, I'd sit beside her for support and we'd later have in-depth conversations about faith and God! Beth was very well read and loved getting into philosophical discussions. She loved to challenge me both on and off the tennis court and I loved her spirit, her sense of adventure and her energy. It's not often you find a friend like Beth. I will miss her but know that she is at peace in heaven! I am thankful for the time we had together and want Sarah, Jack and Dylan to know how much your mom was loved by others and how much she loved you!

I knew Beth for 30+ years. I was lucky enough to enjoy many family dinners, holidays, and family outings with Beth and my family, as well as my extended family. Beth always had a smile and she could lighten up any room she walked in. I will always remember the last thing she said to me when she called me her brother and hoped that I would consider her my sister. I will forever remember you as my sister Beth, and I will love and cherish those memories that I have of you and all the things that you did. I pray that God brings you home and the peace you deserve.

I met Beth at Greenwood Tennis club. She was so friendly and welcoming to me, as I had just moved to Denver from NC and did not know anyone. We played a lot of great tennis matches together. Beth told me about so many fun things to do in Colorado. I missed my friends and family back East and Beth always had time to talk to me about our families. She moved to Steamboat and I moved back to Charlotte, but I loved seeing her smiling face on her FB posts skiing, at Clubs games, enjoying friends and family. My prayers are with the family and friends of Beth. Beth was so kind to me the short time I knew her. I will see you again Beth!

I knew Beth in High school at New Trier East and from the moment we met we just hit it off. After high school we saw each other on occasion and had good times, she drove a cab for a short time and I use to razz her a little about that, but one day I was stranded needing a ride and by chance she saw me walking and stopped and asked me if I needed a ride , needless to say I razzed her no more . I wish I had stayed in better contact with her over the years. I will truly miss her, and her incredible laugh.( I can hear it as I'm writing this)  Rest in peace my dear friend  I'm so glad I knew you. My prayers are with the whole Rohr family, I know the magnitude of your loss.

I am deeply saddened to hear about Beth's passing. Although I didn't know her well, I have always thought of her as a kind and loving person, who dedicated her life and career to helping others. I have no doubt that she will find peace and contentment in the the afterlife, which I believe to be Heaven. She will forever remain with us in our hearts, and will be there with us as we grieve her passing. Those that loved her the most will undoubtedly find subtle signs that she is not really gone, she has just entered a different realm. If you accept the concept of Angels, than Beth will never truly be lost to you.

So many happy memories of Beth... she lived a few doors down from me on Greenwood Avenue in Kenilworth. We'd walk to and from grade school together often, played at each others homes, went to birthday parties together... she was fun, silly, and had a great laugh! Sending so much love to her family and to her children.

I have been so upset and saddened since hearing just half an hour ago about Beth's passing.  I will; return and write more about what Beth and I shared, and how close we became in recent years, but first I want to share a note I just wrote to Beth's daughter, Sarah, on Facebook--where Sarah posted a beautiful letter to her mother.  Here is my letter to Sarah:

Dear Sarah,

Hi Beth,
I know you're not here in the present anymore but in my memories I see you as you were between 1988 and 2002 when I lived in Denver and the Gary-and-Beth star was rising.  You welcomed me, an old retired uncle, into your lives and shared with me the birthdays, Christmas's and family gatherings, out of the generosity of your spirit and the joy you found in life.  I remember that rented townhouse and, later, the first house you owned, where Sarah was born, even then, you loved to entertain.  And the house in Highlands Ranch where Jack was a toddler and then the mansion in Greenwood Village -- your climb to the top was breath taking.  In the Rohr family you were like celebrities.  We followed your news and spoke of "Gary-and-Beth so often it became a single word.  So, when I heard of your demise something snapped, like the movie film broke, or time stopped.  And now I'm left with memories of that time, frozen and disconnected from what went before, and knowing there won't be another chapter.

I met Beth in the summer of 2015.  She was a fierce tennis competitor, and compassionate to so many.  I watched her reach out her hand to anyone in need; I watched her open her home to so many, and I laughed with her and will always remember her saying to me out dancing one night:  "stand still, you'll be the pole" (and  she said this as we were both turning 52).  Beth laughed easily and loved easily.  She made friends easily, and had an easy smile and story after story.  While we met later in life, I felt like I knew her my whole life -- she had that way with some of us.  Beth embodied humanity -- its ups, its downs, and its 'make lemons out of lemonade' moments.  We smiled easily at each other the last time we visited -- in early June of this year.  I was excited for her new life in Steamboat Springs and know the last time I spoke with her, she was really settling into her new surroundings in Steamboat, just like she helped so many settle into their surroundings here in Denver.  Rest easy, Beth.  I know you'll be smiling on the other side when we all get there.   For now, you are a lovely angel to carry close by.  Love, Kathleen Claire

I was saddened to hear of Beth's passing. My heart aches and I am sorry. Hold on to your happy memories and let them guide you during this time of sadness.

Beth Ann and I grew up three houses apart.

Beth Ann's joyful fierceness was part of my childhood.  When I think of her, I remember that.

While we did not keep in touch, we did speak in person a couple of times since she moved to Colorado.  And, she told me how much satisfaction she took in her family and her business.  

I know many other people were closer to her and have more stories and remembrances of her kindness to share with her family. 

All I know is that she never got anything she didn't have to fight for. And she won - repeatedly.

She told me about her love for and her happiness in her family and the friends she always wanted.  The business too - but that was just extra.

I will miss her.

I so saddened to learn of Beth's passing.  Beth was a loving, caring, generous, kind, sweet and beautiful friend.  We knew each other since high school. When I moved to Colorado, Beth was so warm and generous in making sure the I felt welcome and she help me settle in to the Colorado life style.  Please know that my heart goes out to all of you during this very difficult time.
