Beverly Jean Hopkins was born January 19, 1929 in Boise, Idaho to Roy and Gladys Schmelzer. She was a long-time resident of Centennial and Aurora, Colorado. Beverly grew up on a ranch near Boise where she attended country school and graduated from Eagle High School in Boise. In 1946, Beverly moved with her family to Lusk, Wyoming. While working in a drugstore, Beverly met John Hopkins. They were married in December 1948. Together they had two sons, John Wayne and Michael Ray. Beverly worked in the retail business off and on for many years. She enjoyed bowling, square dancing, fishing, camping and family get-togethers.
Beverly entered into heaven on June 26, 2018. She was preceded in death by her husband, John; her parents; and her brother, Keith. She leaves behind her sons and their wives, John and Pat of Queen Creek, Arizona and Michael and Lynette of Aurora; four grandchildren, Nichole (Darvin) Harrell of Bennett, Heather (Brian) Gilbert of Aurora, John (Deanna) Hopkins of Amory, Mississippi and Christine Hopkins of Queen Creek, Arizona; eight great-grandchildren, Logan, Josh, Alex and Wesley Gilbert, Audrey and Kody Harrell, and Addison and Jonathan Hopkins; four sisters-in-law; and several nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
A Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 1, 2018 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Olinger Chapel Hill Mortuary & Cemetery, 6601 S Colorado Blvd, Centennial, CO 80121. A Graveside Service and burial will take place Monday, July 2 at 11:00 am.
