Born and raised in Gillette, Wyoming, to Darrell and Maureen (McClure) Hayden, Bev grew up on a cattle and sheep ranch, where her lifelong devotion to animals first took root. Active and vibrant from a young age, she was an enthusiastic member of the local 4-H club, winning numerous ribbons and showcasing a Grand Champion feeder calf. She brought that same energy to high school as a cheerleader and Homecoming Queen, graduating with the class of 1964.
After high school, Bev attended business college in Rapid City, South Dakota. Shortly after, she married and moved to Laramie, Wyoming, where she proudly welcomed her son, Greg, In 1971, the family moved to Alamosa, Colorado, where her daughter, Nicole, was born. Bev spent many years in Alamosa raising her children before moving to Durango, Colorado, in 1987, where she worked for years as a dedicated dental office manager.
Upon retiring, Bev turned her focus to her true calling: pet sitting. Her love for every animal that crossed her path, whether her own or someone else's, was infectious, though dogs always held a special place in her heart. Everyone trusted Bev implicitly with their beloved pets, knowing they would be showered with affection.
Bev cherished being near her family as her life evolved. In 2020, she moved to Littleton, Colorado, to be closer to her son, daughter-in-law, and granddaughters. Living in an active senior community, Bev and her beloved Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Charlie, quickly made close friends. In 2024, after her granddaughters graduated high school, she moved to Bulverde, Texas, to be near her daughter and son-in-law.
An outdoor enthusiast at heart, Bev embraced life’s adventures. She loved waterskiing, snow skiing, snowmobiling, and jeeping through the Colorado mountains, as well as making lifelong memories on family trips to Lake Powell. She had a passion for dance, teaching aerobic dancing for years and guiding others through country-western steps. With a sharp mind and a social spirit, Bev belonged to bridge groups everywhere she lived, loved playing cards with her siblings, and was always up for board games with her family. A die-hard Denver Broncos fan, she cheered on her team every game day with boundless enthusiasm. Bev also fulfilled a lifelong love for travel, visiting dream destinations including Alaska, Canada, China, Italy, Spain, and most recently, Africa.
Above all else, Bev loved and cherished her family. She was a devoted mother to Greg and Nicole and a deeply loving grandmother to Rhiannon and Rylee. Her time spent with her granddaughters meant the world to her; watching them grow from babies into incredible young women was her proudest achievement, and she delighted in sharing funny stories from their childhoods.
Beverly possessed a rare gift for making everyone feel welcomed, surrounding others with warmth, joyful energy, and unconditional love. Her vibrant spirit and generous heart will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Bev is survived by her son, Greg Gulley, and his wife, Christine; her daughter, Nicole Geroianni, and her husband, Jason; her granddaughters, Rhiannon Hogan (husband Braeden, and expecting Bev’s great-grandson) and Rylee Gulley; her step-grandchildren, Celeste, Harrison, and Lennon Geroianni; and her step-great-granddaughter, Alianna. "Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."
