Billie Myrl Anderson passed away peacefully on October 12, 2025, in Highlands Ranch, Colorado, at the age of 75. A man of unwavering faith, deep compassion, and boundless love, Bill touched countless lives with his kindness, humility, and steady encouragement.
Born on May 12, 1950, in Denver, Colorado, Bill was the beloved son of Loyd and Marie Anderson. He grew up alongside his siblings Carolyn, Alland, Johnny, Loyd Jr., and Francis. From a young age, Bill demonstrated a curiosity about the world and a love for learning, qualities that remained with him throughout his life.
After earning his degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Colorado Denver, Bill embarked on a distinguished career specializing in pipe stress engineering. His expertise led him to contribute to major projects ranging from nuclear power plants to oil and gas pipelines. His professional journey also reflected his adventurous spirit, taking him to remarkable places such as Alaska and Hawaii. Yet, it was never about the work alone—Bill’s greatest joy was in mentoring others, developing talent, and helping people discover their potential.
Known for his passions beyond his career, Bill had a lifelong love of baseball, both as a player and an avid Rockies fan. He found solace and joy in the outdoors and expressed his creative eye through photography, a hobby that earned him the nickname “Papa-Razzi.” His faith guided every part of his life, and as an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he dedicated time to mentoring youth, supporting the Boy Scouts, and participating in the primary program.
Bill’s greatest milestone, however, came when he married his one and only love, Kathy. Their marriage was a shining example of devotion and faith. Together, they raised five children who admired their father’s gentle wisdom and unwavering patience: Billy Anderson (Heather), Robert Anderson (Jhia), Catrina Young (Matt), Rebecca Rogness (Jason), and Rhiannon Cochran (Scott) who he loved as his own. Bill served as a beloved father figure to countless others enriching the lives of every new addition to the family.
He passed on the lessons learned as a devoted husband and father to his children and their spouses, but found the truest delight in his grandchildren, into whom he poured his deepest wisdom and love. He is a beloved grandfather who will be forever cherished as Papa-Bill by his 14 grandchildren and his great-grandchild, with one more great-grandchild soon to arrive. His grandchildren are Carter, AJ (Starr), Alexys (Zander), Tara, Brylee, Cabe, Conner, Knox, Bryton, Tatum, Harlan, Hattie, Matthew, and Charlotte. His great grandchild is Donovan.
A viewing will be held at 11:00 a.m. followed by the funeral service at noon on November 1, 2025, at 4195 E. Wildcat Reserve Parkway in Highlands Ranch, Colorado. Pallbearers will include Billy Anderson, Robert Anderson, Loyd Anderson, Scott Cochran, Jason Rogness, and Matthew Young. A wake will also be held at WindCrest in Highlands Ranch.
"When sore trials come upon us, it is time to deepen our faith in God, to work hard, and to serve others. Then He will heal our broken hearts. He will bestow upon us personal peace and comfort. Those great gifts will not be destroyed, even by death." - Russell M. Nelson
