Born to Forrest and Ada Martin on August 8, 1942, in Ottumwa, Iowa, Bunny was the youngest of five children. She met Karl Nystrom, in Wheaton, Illinois while attending Wheaton Academy. They were married in June of 1960 and were married for 43 years before Karl preceded her in death on January 24, 2004. They have two children, Brian and Michelle. After living in Colorado for many years, Karl and Bunny moved to Kona, Hawaii, where they resided for 10 years. They returned to Colorado in 1999 just in time for the birth of their second grandchild.
Bunny married her current and loving husband, Norvel Davis in 2014 after being a widow for 10 years. Together they built their dream home where she loved sitting on the deck, enjoying a cup of coffee with Norvel while admiring the views of the Rocky Mountains. Fine dining and traveling were their shared passions, but a European River Cruise held a special place in their hearts.
Rarely without a crochet project or knitting project in tow, Bunny enjoyed crafting and making gifts for those she loved. She had a knack for making friends with everyone she crossed paths with, and enjoyed spending time with new and old friends. While she loved the color purple, flowers, butterflies and bunnies, she also loved being a grandma and treasured her time with her two grandchildren.
Bunny is survived by her husband Norvel Davis, son Brian Nystrom, daughter Michelle Marzullo, son-in-law Todd, and grandchildren Tanner and Nicole.
She was greeted in heaven by her parents, husband Karl Nystrom, sister Nancy McCauley and brothers Richard, Philip and Forrest (Bud) Martin.
We ask those who are planning to attend Bunny’s memorial service to wear her favorite color purple in her honor. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bunny’s name to the American Heart Association or the Alzheimer's Association.
