Brendan  has been gone a few years now, but I still miss my lifelong friend.  Your memory crosses my mind every few days.  May God take care of you until we meet again.  Bless your family members that also miss you.

Dear Diana, It has been a struggle of care, and compassion for you these past few years. My Mom and I send our deepest condolences, and wishes for well being to you. I am so thankful to you for giving us the gift of Brendan in our lives! Every interaction he had with me and my mom was always funny, uplifting, educational, and very entertaining. I enjoyed our visits so very much. He gave me insight into so many things in such a short time of knowing him. I can only imagine how much you miss him. I met Brendan when accompanying my friend to the ALS support group at St. Andrew Church in the spring of 2016. I was immediately struck by Brendan's honesty and humility. He shared openly about his condition and gave me much to think about after the group ended. I was saddened to hear of his passing. He touched many lives...including mine in the two support groups that I was fortunate enough to share with him. Thank you for sharing your authentic presence in the present moment, Brendan. Your gifts are immeasurable.

Brendan, you and I were friends since we were 6 years old. I remember taking you for your first motorcycle ride on my 1969 Triumph and you got hooked. You were extremely intelligent. You road your bike from Denver to NY to attend my daughter's confirmation. That was the kind of friend you were. We may not have seen each other a lot, later in life, but you were one of my best friends. I will miss you but we will see each other again. May God rest your soul and take care of your dear wife, Diana.

Brendan was such an incredible History teacher had so much knowledge of history. I learned a ton and Brendan was my favorite teacher by far. He will be missed!

Brendan lived life at full throttle.  He never missed an opportunity to share his personal perspective regardless of what others might think.  He was a strong and courageous personality who accepted genuine friendship.  He was my friend, and he will be missed amongst the ALS community.

I will miss papa Brendan very much. He was a good grandpa and I will will always treasure the moments I have had with him.

Our visits with Brendan were always lively and fun. We were always happily surprised to see his delivery truck stuck in the snow in our cul-de-sac and a sheepish request to spend the night with us in COS.  Brendan, we miss you already. Diana and Moira so sorry for the loss of your loved one and our good friend.

Goodbye to our childhood friend and long time compatriot, Brendan Murphy. I knew him as an Altar boy, Boy Sccout, football player for Somers (NY) High School, Maryknoll Novice, College Student, Biker, Bartender, Teacher, Railroad buff, Historian, world traveler,gardner,writer, military veteran snd "bon vivant".
