Charles Robert “Chuck” Mueller, beloved husband, father, grandfather, mentor, and friend, passed away on May 20, 2026, in Littleton, Colorado, at the age of 79 after a courageous battle with Glioblastoma brain cancer.
Born on January 6, 1947, in Omaha, Nebraska, Chuck was the son of Warren and Helen Mueller and the brother of Mike Mueller. Throughout his life, he was known for his wisdom, humor, determination, and unwavering kindness. He had a remarkable ability to make people feel welcome, understood, and supported. Whether offering guidance, sharing a laugh, or simply listening, Chuck touched countless lives through his generosity, compassion, and selfless care for others.
One of the defining passions of Chuck’s life was his commitment to helping people find hope and healing. For more than 50 years, he was a leader and guiding force within Denver’s Alcoholics Anonymous community. Through sponsorship, mentorship, friendship, and service, he helped countless individuals and families navigate recovery and build brighter futures. The impact of his dedication cannot be measured, but it lives on in the many lives he helped transform.
Chuck also found great joy in the outdoors and embraced an active lifestyle throughout his life. He loved mountain biking, road biking, golf, tennis, and spending time outside in the beauty of Colorado. His determination and passion for tackling some of Colorado and Utah’s most grueling bike rides well into his 70’s inspired those around him to stay active, do hard things, and to never stop grinding.
While Chuck’s accomplishments were many, his greatest pride was his family. He met the love of his life, Debbie, while attending the University of Northern Colorado. Their marriage spanned 57 wonderful years and was the bedrock for the extended family that centered around them.
Chuck is survived by his beloved wife, Debbie Mueller; his children, Michelle, Brigitte, and Christian; his sons-in-law, Dan and Mike; and his six cherished grandchildren, Zadie, Roen, Boden, Ellis, Emma, and Cora. He delighted in watching his grandchildren grow and was a constant presence and influence in each of their lives. His love, guidance, and humor will continue to shape them for years to come.
Those who knew Chuck will remember his quick wit, thoughtful advice, generous heart, and steadfast willingness to help others. He lived a life of purpose, love, and service, and he leaves behind a legacy defined not by what he achieved for himself, but by what he gave to others.
Though he will be deeply missed, the love he shared and the countless lives he touched ensure that his influence will endure for generations to come.
A private memorial service will be held by the family to celebrate Chuck’s life and honor his memory.
