Their Love Story and Legacy
With profound love and deep gratitude, the family of Helen Frances Wachendorfer and Charles John Wachendorfer announces their passing—Helen on July 10th 2025, and Charles on November 12, 2025, just four months later. Married for 65 years, inseparable since the day they met in College, Helen and Charles shared a remarkable partnership that was defined by devotion, resilience, humor, and an unshakeable love that lasted through every season of their lives.
Originally from the Philadelphia and New Jersey area, Helen and Charles made their home and raised their family in Phoenix for a time, Boulder, and Golden, Colorado, where they were longtime members of Joan of Arc Parish. Together, they built a life filled with warmth, faith, and joy—one that touched everyone fortunate enough to know them.
Helen was a successful real estate agent, eventually founding her own company, Helen’s Homes, serving families in Boulder and Golden with the same kindness, honesty, and dedication she brought to every aspect of her life. Charles was an award-winning ball bearings engineer, recognized for his expertise, precision, and unwavering work ethic. Though he excelled in his profession, his greatest pride was always his family. He loved coaching his children’s sports teams, cheering them on from the sidelines, and being present for every milestone.
Helen and Charles were known for their generosity—the kind of people who would gladly give the shirt off their backs to someone in need. They showed up for others with open hearts, steady encouragement, and a cheerful optimism that made every room brighter. They were a true light in the lives of their family and friends.
They are survived by their four loving children: Chuck Wachendorfer and his fiancé Shirley-Ann, Chris Wachendorfer and his wife Jacqueline Goldy, Karen Wachendorfer-Bellinghausen and her husband Jeff, and Lynn Wachendorfer-Langdon and her husband Harry; and by their six cherished grandchildren: Eric, Megan, Zach, Ryan, Gena, and Annie. Their legacy lives on in the kindness they modeled, the values they instilled, and the love that continues to hold their family together.
The family takes comfort in knowing that Helen and Charles, after a lifetime spent side by side, are together once again. Their love story—one of devotion, partnership, and quiet strength—will forever be remembered and deeply missed.
