Born on October 1, 1975, in Goldsboro, North Carolina, Dan was the son of Thomas and Lucinda (Meyerink) Lowary. He grew up in Byron Center, Michigan, where he attended Byron Center High School. He later continued his education in Michigan before earning his Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Colorado. Dan dedicated 26 years of his professional life to Lockheed Martin, where he was deeply respected by colleagues and friends.
In 2010, Dan met Michelle Robinson while playing volleyball in Colorado. They were married on April 9, 2016. Together they built a loving family, welcoming their son James in 2015 and daughter Mackenzie in 2018—children who were the joy of Dan’s life.
Dan had many varied talents and interests. He enjoyed grilling, watching college sports, doing bonsai and listening to an eclectic variety of music. Dan was a good listener and confidant. He will be remembered for his humor, dependability and green thumb.
Dan was preceded in death by his father, Tom Lowary. He is survived by his wife Michelle; their children, James and Mackenzie; his mother, Cindi; his sister, Jen (Cristian); his brother, Mike; and his nieces, nephews, and many other beloved friends and family members.
Dan was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed by all who knew him.
