Born Danny Frank Tortorelli on November 25, 1929 in Trinidad, Colorado to parents Donato “Dan” Tortorelli and Ida Velma Clayton. The family lived on a farm in El Moro. Danny’s father died when he was 9 years old. He changed his name to Danny Frank Schneider as a young man when his mother married Theodore Schneider. Danny married Dorothy Leasure on July 14, 1951 and they recently celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary. Together they raised three children: Danny, Doug, and Denise. Danny enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting and the outdoors. He retired as a Quality Engineer after working for Gates Rubber Company in Denver for 41 years. He was an avid golfer in his retirement years and a big Bronco and Rockies fan. He would regale any willing participant with stories of his beloved grandkids, Emma and Eli. He was loved by many and will be greatly missed.
Danny is survived by his wife Dorothy and children: Danny of Salt Lake City, Doug (Kathy) of Littleton and Denise Brendle (Keith) of Littleton. His 2 grandchildren, Emma and Eli, will miss their Papa. Danny is also survived by siblings: Bobbie McCoy, David and Rudy Tortorelli, and Bill Clayton as well as many nieces and nephews.
A funeral will be held on Monday, July 27th at 2:00 p.m. at Olinger Chapel Hill Mortuary located at 6601 S. Colorado Blvd., Centennial. Reception to follow.
