David Troja Chittenden died Sunday, July 18th,2021 in Boulder, Colorado. He was 53 years old.
David was born March 27, 1968 in Thousand Oaks, CA. He moved to Colorado when he was 10 years old, and lived most of his life in Boulder, the city that he loved. He graduated from Pomona High School in 1986, and from Colorado Christian University and University of Colorado-Denver. He held a Bachelor of Science in Organizational Management, a Master of Arts in Curriculum and Instruction, and a Master of Science in Finance. He worked in many different positions with the State of Colorado, and later for the University of Colorado. He loved living on Pearl Street Mall, enjoyed the culinary scene in Boulder, and was a beloved regular at The Med. He was a ferocious adversary at Words with Friends.
David is survived by his mother, Cecelia Chittenden, his sister Nicole (Rusty) White, two nieces and a nephew, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his brother, Stephen Chittenden (2007), and his father Abram “Chip” Chittenden (2018). After cremation, David’s ashes will be spread at Mount Lindo, mingling with those of his brother and his father.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you would consider a donation to Denver Rescue Mission, which ministers to the homeless population in Denver, where David had done volunteer work.
