Dennis Stark Hansen passed away on May 5, 2026, at the age of 79. He was born in Bethesda, Maryland. Dennis served in the Army in Vietnam as an Interpreter and Linguist. He attended the Defense Language Institute, Monterey, California studying North Vietnamese.
Dennis was a proud graduate of the University of West Florida (BA cum laude and MA summa cum laude) and graduate of the University of Florida with a Ph.D. Dennis also received a Juris Doctor from University of Denver College of Law. Dennis practiced law for the Army Corp of Engineers in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and Washington, DC.
Dennis is survived by his wife Joyce, his brother Ray Hansen (Marilyn) and sister Nancy Chamblee (Darrell), and his brother-in-law David S. Vanderford. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and friends that will miss him dearly.
Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Norma Hansen.
Dennis will be interred at Barrancas National Cemetery, Pensacola, Florida. A fitting place for someone who served his country during conflict and lived a life defined by service and duty. He leaves a lasting legacy of integrity and kindness.
