Dear Lindsey Family,
I would like to express my deepest condolences! I was fortunate enough to spend seven months with Derrick in massage school. Derrick was a kind hearted young man who always had a smile on his face and was always kind to others. Derrick was always ready to lend an ear and give hugs when you needed, despite what he may have been going through at the time. Thank you for raising such a wonderful young man ! He will be missed by everyone in our massage class.

As a parent of two classmates of the Lindsey boys, I remember Derrick in his early years. There are not enough words to express my deepest condolences to the family. May you find solace in his loving memory. From The Little Prince: “In one of the stars, I shall be living, In one of them...I shall be laughing. And so it will be as if all the stars were laughing. When you look at the sky at night... you alone will have stars that laugh. And when your sorrow was is comforted, you will be content that you have known me.”

Derrick was one of my best closest friends here. I am very sad to see him go at such a young age when he was doing so well for himself. I hope he is in a better place and looking down upon us from above.

My heart goes out to the Lindseys during this difficult time. I met Derrick through mutual friends in high school. We shared a love of footwear and I remember texting him the occasional picture of rare shoes I intended on purchasing. He wouldn't hesitate to lend an ear and I always felt like we easily understood each other. Gone too soon. Rest easy, my friend. You will be missed.
