

Don was born on a farm in Stratton, Colorado on August 8, 1920. He grew up in Yuma, Colorado, graduated with degrees in chemistry from University of Colorado in Boulder and Loyola School of Dentistry in Chicago. He did graduate study at Northwestern in Chicago and Johns Hopkins in Baltimore. He practiced oral surgery in Denver since 1950.
Don married Margaret Jane Graham in Chicago in 1946. He served in the Army Dental Corps. He is predeceased by a brother, Ervin Dean Garehime, and sister, Claire Moore, and survived by a sister, Patricia Garehime of Redlands, California, a daughter, Margaret Slothower, of Bend, Oregon, and a son, William Garehime, of Denver, as well as 5 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, November 14 at 1:00 in Wellshire Presbyterian Church, 2999 S. Colorado Blvd., Denver. It is requested that donations in lieu of flowers be given to the Wellshire Presbyterian Men’s Bible Study Group, as Don was an active member of that group during the last years of his life.
