Born February 25, 1932, she resided in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and received her Bachelor of Arts (Mathematics) in 1953 from Temple University. The day after graduation, she married her college sweetheart Harlan Richard Headley. After moving “way out west” to Colorado, she worked as a computer analyst until her retirement.
Doris loved cats, photography, reading, gardening, and travelling to Africa, Alaska, Hawaii, and New Zealand. She was a docent (emeritus) at the Denver Zoo, sharing her unbridled passion for and knowledge of wildlife with Zoo visitors.
Doris is preceded in death by her parents and loving husband of 44 years. In her memory, donations can be made to the Denver Zoo or Best Friends Animal Sanctuary.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.olingerchapelhill.com for the Headley family.
