Dorothy E. Findlay

Our beloved Mother, Grandmother and wife of 63 years Dorothy E (Peeler) Findlay departed peacefully, surrounded by family, June 4, 2012 at Sky Ridge Medical Center. Dottie had a long, vibrant, and meaningful life. Born in Toronto, Ontario Canada November 14 1921, she lived in Winnipeg Manitoba during her younger years, where she married James Findlay in 1948, and had her eldest son, prior to moving to Denver Colorado, in 1953. Dottie and Jim were owner operators of several motels in the Denver Metro area. During her retirement years Jim and Dottie along with their adored dachshund Heidi loved to travel, visiting family and friends throughout the United States and Canada. As snowbirds they spent their last 14 winters in Yuma Arizona, enjoying many hours of dominos, time with a broad array of dear friends, and enjoyed the spring and summer months in their Littleton home, close to their children and grandchildren. Dottie took great pleasure in sharing her freshly baked blueberry muffins which never lasted long enough to meet demand. The Matriarch of her family, she has left a void challenging us all to fill. Dottie leaves behind her husband, Jim, her children Floyd, (Lil), Barbara (Rich) and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death was her son James Rennie Findlay.

Rest easy, Mom ... You will be sorely missed and affectionately remembered, always.
