Douglas Henry Horton, 81, of Arvada, Colorado, passed away on August 14, 2025. He was born on October 7, 1943, in Peoria, Illinois. Douglas is survived by his loving wife, Diana Horton; his daughter, April Horton; grandchildren Arleigh Horton, Bryce Gowda, Lexus Williams, and Justin Williams; and sister-in-law, Patricia Horton. He was a devoted husband, father, and amazing Papa whose humor and love will always be remembered. He worked at Celebrity Sports Center in Colorado for more than 20 years and later at a casino, where he grew to love the thrill of gambling. A lifelong sports fan and talented basketball player in his youth, Douglas’s loyalty to the Denver Broncos never wavered.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 21, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Olinger Funeral, Cremation & Cemetery – Chapel Hill, 6601 South Colorado Boulevard, Centennial, CO 80121.
