Elaine Marie Brown was given life by her creator and was born December 22, 1946, to Merle and Betty Ryder in Portland, Oregon. On April 7, 1947, she received the gift of Holy Baptism and became a child of God. On October 28, 2007, she publicly confessed her faith and was confirmed. She was blessed with the gift of three children: David Ash, Brian Ash, and Theresa Carothers; and many grandchildren, nieces and nephews. God blessed Elaine’s life with many special people as she served God in her vocations at home, church, work, and in the community.
Finally, on April 22, 2022, God blessed Elaine with a holy death and took Elaine home to rest in the arms of Jesus to await the resurrection of the dead. Elaine was 75 years old.
Elaine is survived by her brother Rick and Becky Ryder, sisters Linda and Stanley Abney, Judy Medlin, and Shirley Ryder, and her three children.
Elaine was preceded in death by father Merle, mother Betty, and brother Jim Ryder.
The Lord gives and the Lord take away; blessed be the Name of the Lord. We give thanks to God the Father through Jesus Christ, our Lord, for our sister Elaine.
