Elaine was born in Minnesota on June 4, 1933. The family moved to Denver where she finished high school and married Darwin. She spent many years helping her husband in his pastoral duties at Englewood Bible Church and Community Baptist Church.
Their long-time missionary work through AIMS sent them all over the world, spreading the word of the Lord. After Darwin's passing, she continued her missionary work through UIM, writing poems for all and visiting with family and friends always with a smile on her face.
Elaine prided herself in her poem writing. She loved to write poems for all occasions. She felt this was her mission to spread the word of the Lord through poetry.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Darwin Merrill, her parents, Hilbert and Irene Richards, sister Marlene, her brothers; Gary and Duane.
She is survived by her children; Daniel (Peggy) Merrill, Sharon (Mike) Mason, Steve (Lynn) Merrill along with 7 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
A funeral service for Elaine will be held Thursday, January 30, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Olinger Chapel Hill, 6601 S Colorado Blvd, Centennial, CO 80121.
