Elizabeth Parks Ervin
Elizabeth (Libby) was born on November 1, 1927 in Gilmer County, Georgia to Ruby Pearl Murphy and Henry Grady Parks. She grew up in Rome and the Atlanta area in Georgia.
Libby graduated from High School in Panama City, Florida. She worked in an office at the shipyards during the war years. After the war, she and her sister, Evelyn, moved to Atlanta and worked for the Sears Roebuck Company. She met “Tommy” at a fraternity function while he was a student at Georgia Tech. They married at the First Methodist Church on Peachtree Street in Atlanta on June 12, 1948. Tom took his first job with Westinghouse Electric and the couple moved to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Tom, a mining engineer, was transferred to Denver, Colorado in 1955. The couple had two children, Deborah and Scott. In 1962, the family moved to Englewood.
The couple was active at Valley County Club. Libby enjoyed golf and bridge and traveled in their motor home. They ‘retired’ to Sun City West in Arizona for several years, but came back “home” to Englewood and lived in that area until their deaths.
Libby died Friday, June 11th, on the eve of what would have been their 62nd wedding anniversary. She is survived by her sisters, Georgia Ann Smith and Sue Ellen Moyle; her brother, Donald Conn; her children, Scott and Sharon Ervin and Debby and Larry Kramb; her grandchildren, Jessica Ervin, Greg Ervin, Kyle and Cary Kramb-Walker, Jason Kramb and Bret Kramb; and her great-grandchildren, Jack Henry Kramb-Walker and Sidney Elizabeth Kramb-Walker.
The last years of Libby’s life were lived at the Englewood, Meridian. She had many good friendships there, both long-time and new. Libby will be dearly missed.
