Dear Tom, Mandy, Meghan & Families,
          We were saddened by the news of Marcie's passing, & yet so comforted knowing that she is now singing praises in the direct presence of our Lord!  In His presence there is fullness of joy.  (Ps. 16:11).
          Marcie was more than a friend, she was a mentor & a source of inspiration.  The Hamiltons' & the Kochs' friendship began in Herndon, VA, in the early 80s.  We all attended Trinity Presbyterian Church.  
          At Vacation Bible School one day, Marcie squatted down next to me (as I tended a child) & informed me that CBS was forming a new class in Great Falls, VA, & she thought I would make an "excellent" children's teacher.
          I couldn't see what she saw, but I prayed about it & became a children's teacher, then an assistant Children's Director, & later, Director of the Children's Program at CBS in Great Falls.  It was a life-changing experience which changed the trajectory of my life.
          Marcie counseled me through the highs & lows of those years in VA.  Showed this tomboy little sister of three strapping brothers how to be a lady, how to be gracious, & how to decorate.  She was the girlie-girl I wanted to be!  
          Despite the Hamiltons and the Kochs criss-crossing all over the country, we always stayed in touch.  And every time we spoke over the phone or met to break bread together, those years in between melted like snow in April. 
            In Murfreesboro, TN, Bob & I attended the New Vision, & later, Belle Aire, CBS classes.  We would later lead the couples' group in the Belle Aire CBS class.  We still cherish those friends we established during those years. 
          Tom, Mandy, & Meghan, Bob & I love you so much!  Time cannot change that.  To Mandy & Meghan's families, I pray you realize just how very blessed you all have been to have had Marcie in your lives.  What a precious gift our God has given you! I used to attend Bible Study at Marcie's when we lived across the street from them on Dahlgren Dr in Tennessee.  I was so blessed to have her in my life and on my journey closer to God.

Marcie was a wonderful friend and mentor to me since we met nearly two decades ago. We became acquainted through our church small group, connected over Community Bible Study, and even co-led a neighborhood Bible study in my home....in addition to countless lunches, walks, cups of tea, and phone calls. I learned so much about motherhood, hospitality and leadership from her. She taught me what it means to be gracious, and I have treasured every bit of her wisdom and counsel...and decorating tips! I was blessed to call her friend and to get to know Tom, Mandy, and Meghan over the years. I both weep and rejoice with you now. May the Lord bless you and keep you.

Before Marcie and Tom left our street on Dahlgren, we were able to visit and make a picture memory.  We will always remember Marcie as a very gracious and warm neighbor.  Go with God, sweet friend!

We will always have many wonderful memories of Marcie. Sharing a meal and playing pinochle with Tom and her was something we always looked forward to.
Marcie’s Bible Studies were also very special times that will always be remembered. Her warm heart and love of the Lord was always very apparent.
Having her live on our street and being  a dear neighbor will always be in our hearts.
Our hearts and prayers go out to Tom and her beloved family in the knowledge that Marcie is with her Lord and Savior.

It was with great sadness that I read of Marcie's passing.  We were friends from grade school on.  Linda and I send heart felt condolences to Tom, Mandy and Meghan along with their families. She was a wonderful woman and her memory will be a source of comfort to me for the remainder of my days
