Elizabeth Stemper, 64, passed away on May 18, 2026, after suffering 5 brain bleeds over the past 7 weeks. Elizabeth is survived by her husband Kent; her 3 sons: Kyle, Eric and Andy; her 2 daughters in law, Leah and Katie; her 2 grandchildren Liam and Sophie, her Mom Joan, and 3 siblings, Diane, Brian and Mary.
Elizabeth grew up in Whitefish Bay, Wisconsin. She went to the University of Iowa, majored in Accounting, and then joined Touche Ross in Denver, Colorado where she met her future husband Kent on the first day of work. Kent and Elizabeth started dating a year later, got married 3 years later, and were married for 38 years.
Their life was an adventure. Shortly after marrying they moved to Chicago for 9 years, where their 3 sons were all born. They then lived in Japan for 4 years seeing the world and fostering their love of travel that became the basis of many of their greatest memories. After Japan, they enjoyed life outside in the near perfect weather of Los Angeles for 4 years. Finally, they moved back to Denver, settled in and found the place they called home.
Elizabeth was passionate about life. She loved working out, tennis, pickleball, being in the outdoors, concerts, travel, and virtually any kind of social activity. She was tenacious in all aspects of her life; from competing on the courts, to doing her job at work, to ensuring her family was protected, earning her a reputation as a fierce Mama Bear! She got things done! She loved people, and her friends were as important to her as almost anything. Her friends described her as kind, generous, warm, positive, fun, loving, and someone who absolutely loved to laugh.
Nothing was more important to her than family and faith. She was a devoted mother to her 3 boys, a stay at home Mom during 15 of their most formative years. She would consider raising her sons her greatest accomplishment. She was a strong woman, admired and respected and loved by her daughter-in-laws. Her marriage to Kent was the foundation of their family. Kent and Elizabeth considered their marriage one of their greatest blessings and always gave thanks to God for that. Her faith grew over the years, and became one of the cornerstones of her life. She loved God.
