Eric was born July 25, 1986 in Longmont Colorado. He was married to the love of his life, Julie.
He was daddy to Timmy and Mikayla. Son of Tim and Andy Losh and Judy and Doug Thoman, stepson to Steve Jackson, brother to Jared (Heather), Conner (Chloe), Jimmy (Claudia), Chris,
Megan (Chris) and Melissa (Tony). He was loved by countless family and friends.
By fate Eric and Julie were introduced by Julie’s sister. The first day Eric met Julie he brought her flowers and swept her off of her feet. It was an instant connection. They fell deep in love.
They grew up together, going to school studying fire science and medicine and cheering each other on. Their lives developed like the best dream. They got married July 9, 2011 in a Colorado thunderstorm with a rainbow. They later were blessed with the most beautiful son, Timothy Michael on February 18, 2016 and again with a sassy daughter, Mikayla Ann, on November 12, 2018. Eric became such an involved father. He took the kids everywhere- the waterpark, the ballpark, horseback riding, even taking them to the gym. He took care of Julie better than anyone ever could. He brought joy, laughter and connective love to his family. Eric worked at Mountain View Fire Rescue for 15 years. He also served on the Colorado Professional Firefighters Foundation Board to help firefighter families in their time of need.
Eric loved being a fireman with Mountain View but Eric would have rather been at home. He loved to take time to be with his family. Working for his dad’s department and working with his brothers meant a tremendous amount to him. Eric brought laughter and fun to this family in the station and on a call he brought professionalism. He loved being an engineer; it was his end goal. He took his work to heart and this brotherhood seriously. The department will never be the same.
Eric and Julie bought land in Matheson and Eric created BD ranch in 2023. It had two purposes. The first was that his family had a place to go where they could go to make memories. He wanted the kids to have a place where they could learn how to love hard work, have farm fun, and have a sanctuary outside of the city. The second reason was that he wanted to provide a place of healing for his first responder family. Here they could feel safe and be vulnerable together, but he would never put it that way. The first hunt was a pheasant hunt in which Eric brought the pheasants and the memory is precious to this day. The nights always ended with fire pits, girl beers, stories and laughter.
The family would like to thank the CPFF, Mountain View Fire Rescue and all other fire agencies that have helped during this tragic time a special thank you Mike Eason.
In closing, Eric would want us to remind you: Glad you got to see me.
A funeral service for Eric will be held Thursday, August 28, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM at Crossroads Community Church, 9900 S Twenty Mile Rd, Parker, CO 80134. Following the funeral service will be a memorial reception at 2:00 PM at South Metro Professional Firefighters, Local 2086, 67 Inverness Drive East, Unit E, Englewood, CO 80112.
