Ted was born to Jesse Booth on September 29th, 1935 in Washington Township, Iowa. When Everett was born he weighed only 2lb, he was a miracle birth, born blue and survived birth at home with the help of his two aunts. His older brother Bill ran to the closest farmhouse about 1 mile away to call for a doctor. His mom always called him her Teddy Bear, because he was so small, like a Teddy Bear. He stayed Ted for the rest of his life to all friends and family. He didn’t know his real name wasn’t Ted until he joined the Air Force and had to have his birth certificate. Ted grew up without a father in his life, he never knew him. His family was very poor; he skipped a year of school during his sophomore year. He would go around collecting bottles and things to get money for the family. Christmas was not a thing when he was growing up because there was no money for a tree or gifts. This drove Ted to work very hard to always provide for his family and make sure his children never went without.
Ted attended Calumet High School in Gary, IN and graduated in 1954, he went into the Air Force in July of 1954, served until December of 1957 and received an Honorable Discharge. He attended Purdue University where he received a Business Administration degree and a minor in Psychology.
Ted and Beverly had known each other since high school; their first date was a double date with friends, Dottie and Noal. They were engaged within 6 weeks of their first date and married in April of 1959. After they were married they had 2 children, Ted and Mark. They attended Full Gospel Tabernacle in Gary, Indiana, where they helped with the youth. They moved to Butler, Wisconsin in 1969 where they continued to raise their boys and adopted their daughter Shantell. They were very involved in their church, Brookfield Assembly and spending time with family. Ted’s job took him to Littleton, Colorado in 1978, where they were active members of Denver First Assembly of God and then Grace Community Church. He also spent a short time in San Francisco, and then to Buena Park California where they attended Calvary Assembly of God. During his career years, he was an Insurance investigator, Branch Manager, and a Regional VP of Operations; he worked for, Equifax, Hooper Holmes, ASB Meditest and Merrill Lynch.
Ted told his grandson Ethan his dream job was to be in the Secret Service and to have a briefcase handcuffed to his wrist. In 1994 they returned to Colorado and then in 2002 had the opportunity to move to Jacksonville, Fl. In Jacksonville they attended Mandarin Assembly of God and enjoyed their time there. In 2009, after some health issues, they returned to Colorado to be close to family.
Ted loved to garden and watching his plants grow, he always had a variety of vegetables, but his favorite was tomatoes. When they lived in Florida he was able to have tomato plants year round. His tomato plants would grow to 6’ tall and he would have to trim them down. He and Beverly loved to be outside, working in the yard and enjoyed sitting on the porch or deck. Ted enjoyed playing softball and coached many church teams over the years. Ted also served as a Board Member at many of the churches they
attended over the years, and held Elder roles at two of the churches he attended. He also taught Sunday school, helped with youth and attended several Life groups over the years.
Ted and Beverly were happily married for 62 ½ years. Their children, Ted E and Kathy, Mark, Shantell, their grandchildren, Kale and Lisa, Adrielle and Andrew, Kayla and Bobby, Emily and Connor, Ethan, Jessica and Elvis, Auna, and great grand children, Jackson, Aven, Brooklyn, Amelia and Lorelei; all meant the world to him. He was proud of his children and grandchildren and great grandchildren and loved each one a lot! Thanksgiving was his favorite holiday, having everyone together was the most important thing. Ted lived his life with a grateful heart!
Ted is preceded in death by his loving wife Beverly, his mother, his siblings and other loved family and friends.
Ted loved the Lord and spent time every day reading the Word and praying for his family, friends, people in the church, missionaries and our country. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and love him.
