Floyd Wright was born in Burlington, Colorado on October 6, 1940, to Allen and Verdie Wright. Floyd grew up in Englewood, attended Englewood schools, and met Evelyn during their high school years. Evelyn and Floyd married in March of 1959. Floyd and Evelyn raised their 5 children in their same town, allowing all of them to also attend Englewood schools.
Floyd and his beloved wife Evelyn owned and operated a prominent parts store in Englewood for many years, where Floyd was known for his strong work ethic, kindness, quick sense of humor, and willingness to help anyone who walked through the door. They retired together in December 1996 after decades of serving the community.
Beloved husband, brother, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and great-great-grandfather, passed away surrounded by those who loved him. He was loved by so many.
He will be remembered for his kind heart, his humor, his hard work, and generosity. He found his greatest joy in his family, work, and many hobbies — shooting, cars, fishing, working in his garage, and creating unique, handmade items for friends and family.
Floyd was preceded in death by his beloved wife Evelyn, parents Allen and Verdie Wright, sister Myrna Brown, daughter Pam Warne, grandson Colton Wright, and their faithful dog Snickers.
He is survived by his brother Larry Wright (Fawn) four children; Randy Wright, Debbie Eldridge (Gill) Jennifer Piz (Bill), and Greg Wright, 15 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and many extended family, friends, and loyal customers who became like family.
His kindness, humor, and the special things he built with his hands will live on in the many lives he touched.
