I grew up on Medea Way and went to school with Susie through South High.  Although I never had any musical talent, I do remember Mrs Schaefer as a beautiful lady with a big smile.  May she rest in peace and am sure she is enjoying a long awaited reunion with her relatives and friends who have been waiting for her in heaven.....and, yes, probably has everyone singing!!!

I was part of a quartette that Fran coached and directed.  Her daughter Susie was in the quartette and we practiced at their house, in the living room, next to the grand piano.  We sang together through junior high and high school.  I have lots of memories of Fran but the strongest is her huge smile and how she constantly was reminding each of the quartette members to Smile!  I kept in touch with Fran over the years at Christmas time and always enjoyed her notes about her family.  Luckily, we talked on the phone around May, 2014.  It was a great conversation and I feel very grateful to have had those few minutes with her. Perhaps it is because of Fran, that I have given many professional presentations and rarely experience stage fright.  Thanks, Mrs. Schaefer!

I enjoyed singing at the Kirk of Bonnie Brae under Fran's leadership as choral director.  She had a beautiful voice and was the best vocal director I ever sang for.  She was a great friend and always had a smile and positive attitude for us.  Her Brownie Recipe is a favorite of our family to this day!  I think of her often and can see her smile!  She will be missed, but what a privilege to have known her!

Fran was a dear friend and an outstanding choral director.  I had the honor of singing in her choir at the Kirk for many years until her retirement.  Even though we left CO. over 20 yrs. ago, she always kept in contact.  I enjoyed sending our Cantata programs to her from my home church here, and she would always remark about the choices of the music we performed. Yes, she is continuing to conduct the angels in heaven now!

Grandma did it her way for 99 wonderful years. Her way was always love, music, coffee and ice cream bars. Her way was not here on the internet because it was in books and visits and  dinners out with all of us. I hope Grandma is at a picnic with Grandpa and Bob and June and Chuck and Dolly and Grandma and Grandpa Bradley at a place that looks a lot like Iowa where they can all relax in the shade after so many years and just talk. Thank you for sharing 99 years with all of us! Lots of love always and miss you!

 Miss Bradley was my music teacher in Rolfe,Ia. I was in grade  school and remember the plays and musicals.  My sister,Jeanette, was in High School and she had some leads in musicals at that time. 
 When Fran and Gene moved to Denver we were together for holidays. We moved to Denver 1952. Linda was 21/2 and we were expecting another baby in Nov. Linda and Sue are the same age 1950.  Many good times.  We regret that we didn't get together in later years.  Fran was a gem.  Remember her 2014 Christmas card and she looked great for her age
      She will be missed by many.

We met Grandma Schaefer when we moved to Colorado in 1974.  We chose a house next door to Cyndy and Paul, and our three kids and their four kids grew up together.  Grandma and Grandpa Schaefer were often there, teaching love of music, sharing birthdays and barbeques.  In more recent years, we would bump into Grandma Schaefer at the Belcaro King Soopers.  She was a sweet, strong woman who adored her family.  How lucky for everyone that she lived to enjoy great-grandchildren!
