Gladys Doty

Gladys Bernice (Nestor) Doty (90) passed away peacefully on June 14, 2020 in Longmont, Colorado. Born May 23, 1930 in a farm house in Hoyt, Colorado, Gladys was the youngest daughter of Marion and Ethel (Newby) Nestor. Married to Donald H. Doty in Englewood, Colorado December 14, 1968.

Gladys loved playing cards and board games with family and friends, had a sharp whit and great sense of

humor. She accepted teasing and trickery from family members and friends but gave as good as she got. Her best friend in life was Mary Ellen (Dean) Kochevar, her niece who was 1 year older. They were parted by her passing in 2017.

She is survived by 8 children, Wilma Philips (Ada, Oklahoma), Jerry Arkle (Hayden, Idaho), Hazel Bryant

(Gunnison, Colorado), Barbara Furman (Aurora, Colorado), Patricia Sharp (Firestone, Colorado), Leroy Whistle (Albuqurque, New Mexico) Wesley Whistle (Tennessee), Janet Mahan (Arkansas), 23 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and numerous more cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceeded in death by husband Don in 1991, son Donald. (Unknown), daughter Eva Wilde in 2018 and siblings Isabelle (2000), Lucille (2012), Mary (1984), Frank (1980), Melvin (1981), Leroy (2013), Lenora (1990), Anna (1981), John (2015) and Louise (2013).

Private graveside services will be performed at Olinger Chapel Hill cemetery in Centennial, Colorado.
