Glenny Clara Bervik

Glenny Clara Klofstad was born on July 9,1935, in Plentywood, MT, daughter of Arthur and Alice (Hanson) Klofstad. She was the 2nd child of 9. Glenny graduated in 1953 from Plentywood High School. She married her high school sweetheart, Selmer Bervik, on Dec. 6, 1953.

Glenny and Selmer lived on the family farm east of Westby, MT. They worked hard and enjoyed many years on the farm, raising cattle and harvesting crops. Glenny always had a very large garden and a coop full of chickens. She enjoyed baking and always had a freezer stocked with baked goods for Selmer’s coffee breaks and friends stopping by to visit.

She enjoyed sewing, crafting and music. In the early days, Tom Jones and Englebert Humperdink were her favorite singers. Glenny was active in the church and spent several years as treasurer. She also sang in the church choir and was the clerk and treasurer of Westby High School-- District #9.

Glenny and Selmer spent 44 years on the farm and enjoyed traveling to several different states and countries. They loved to square dance. (Glenny sewed their matching outfits.) They hosted many relatives from Norway during the summers.

After Selmer’s untimely death in 1997, Glenny bravely continued life as a widow. She would travel to AZ in the winters to get away from the cold ND weather. She was a faithful and caring friend. She volunteered for many causes and made many quilts and baby blankets for her grandchildren.

In 2011, she purchased a house in Littleton, CO, where she lived with her daughter Darcy and family. In 2019, Glenny moved into Someren Glen, which she found to be a very caring retirement facility in Centennial, CO. She loved to participate in the activities and enjoyed knitting hats for newborns in local hospitals and washcloths for new residents. She made many special friends during this time. Even though glaucoma eventually took her eyesight, Glenny lived life with strength and grace. She dearly loved the Lord, her family and her friends.

Glenny is survived by her 4 children: Robin Jordan (husband Jim) of Bastrop, TX; Kevin Bervik (wife Michelle) of Littleton, CO; Darcy Bervik of Littleton, CO; and Bennie Bervik of Federal Way, WA. Gunnvor Rogne Nilson (a former exchange student from Norway) was also loved as a daughter. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; sisters, Anita, Ione, Pam and Wendy, and brother, Arty, together with their families. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Selmer, an infant daughter, Roann (Robin’s twin), and siblings, Lynae, Robert and Howard.
