

Born in March 1932 in Park Falls WI, the youngest of 10 kids; Goldie attended Park Falls High School through 10th grade, at age 16 she married John George Hirtreiter who brought her to CO.
In 1989 Goldie married George Kerns whom she met when came to her house to put up a fence, he got along with her dogs, so he couldn’t be all bad and a romance began. They were married Oct 14, 1989, on their honeymoon in San Francisco the earth really did move, it was the big San Francisco earthquake. She lived with him in Littleton, CO.
Goldie retired from Samsonite after 43 years of service as a soft side sample maker.
She had a love for boston terrier dogs and had multiples over the years. She enjoyed traveling; she made many trips out of the country including a Safari in Africa, seeing kangaroos in Australia, Stonehenge in England and many more places around the world. She traveled in her motor home with George and belonged to the Aspen Leaves chapter of the Good Sam. She was very social and kept in touch with everyone she could over the years. She recently attended Arapahoe Road Baptist Church.
She loved colleting 400 cookie jars and not a cookie to be found. She also painted landscape pictures and was very good. Enjoyed knitting, crocheting, sewing, and gardening.
She is survived by her husband George, daughters Nancy West and Sandra Harris, grandchildren Angela Turner, Sally Harris and Steven Harris, and great-granddaughters Emily Turner and Abigail Turner.
The family asks that instead of flowers memorial gifts may be made to Suncrest Hospice, 777 E. Speer Blvd, Denver, CO 80203 in her name.
