It is with very heavy hearts that we announce Gregory “Greg” Roland Shettlesworth, born to Ellen and James Shettlesworth on October 26th, 1950, in Oroville, CA., entered the presence of the Lord on January 4th, 2025, in Centennial, CO., due to complications from a stroke.
He was a devoted husband, an amazing father, and a cherished grandfather. Greg (known affectionately as Papa or Pop) joins his parents, Ellen and James, and his sister, Karen, in Heaven.
He is survived by his wife, Julie, and daughters, Holli and Brooke. He also leaves behind seven grandchildren who adored him dearly, Haley, Troy, Kendall, Danny, Kaeden, Christian and Jozlyn.
His adventure on this earth was one marked by love, family, and unwavering faith in God. His passing has left a void in the hearts of his family, friends, and many more whose lives were touched by him. In addition to being a dedicated and loving husband, father, and grandfather, Greg enjoyed science, engineering, working with his hands, and going to see movies. If he wasn’t at the theater, he could always be found in his basement lab, his garage, around the house fixing/replacing/updating/renovating or anywhere that someone needed assistance or guidance, of which he had an abundance and was never too busy to provide.
The Celebration of Life service to honor the life of Gregory Roland Shettlesworth will be held on January 16th, at 6:15 pm at Landsdowne Arms. A private ceremony for Greg will be helded at Fort Logan Cemetery where he will be interned.
In lieu of flowers, we are asking that donations be made to the Disabled Veterans Fund in memory of “SSGT Greg Shettlesworth". Although Greg’s physical presence may no longer grace our lives, his spirit will continue to inspire and uplift us.
“I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.” - Frank Herbert, Dune
