

Known by Greg to his loved ones, his early education was within the Cherry Creek School District in south metro Denver. His adventurous spirit led him to a student abroad program with the Rotary Club in The Netherlands. He spent his Junior year of high school there, a leap far more courageous than most 15/16 year olds. But that was the nature of our oldest son and brother. Greg graduated from high school in 2004, then continued on, earning his Bachelors of Arts in Marketing from Fort Lewis College in 2008.
As a teenager, Greg, never one to sit still, played lacrosse, baseball, and adventured into rock climbing and kayaking on the Animas river. But his dearest love was likely snowboarding, which he characteristically pursued to an exceptional level - he preferred back-country boarding, studying avalanche survival, and seeking out first tracks in fresh snow in the San Juan mountains around Durango and Silverton, Colorado. Greg also enjoyed snowmobiling in the back-country. Greg enjoyed experimenting and growing all sorts of plants and vegetables which he shared with his neighbors.
Greg also loved aviation, a trait he received from his mother. Greg attained his Glider Pilot License at the age of 15, completing his first solo flight even before receiving his vehicle drivers license. He also spent many hours as a student pilot. One time, he flew from Denver to Florida and back with his aviation mentor and friend.
Greg's studies and career took him to many fascinating places, like Costa Rica, La Rochelle, France, Puerto Rico, Argentina and many other places. However, his heart was always in Colorado. In his 30s, he returned to Colorado and eventually left other professional work behind to focus on helping others. Greg completed his Certified Addictions Counselor training, and was pursuing his Masters in Social work. His priorities shifted strongly towards transforming his own struggles into helping others. In the last year of his life, several individuals credit Greg with saving their lives and helping them find the path of recovery. Greg found his path and passion, sharing his experiences and love of life with so many. He made a difference!
Greg is survived by his mother; Claire, father; Roderick, brother; Mike and two sisters; Kenzie and Annie, as well as his step-father; Bill and step-mother; Peggy; sister-in-law; Chelsea, and a niece that he adored; Anna. He additionally leaves behind three step siblings and countless friends.
