Departed life after a courageous battle with Alzheimer's disease.
Born in Proctor, VT to Emil Olson and Ellen Melen, Hal joined the U.S. Navy after high school and proudly served on Destroyers during the Korean conflict. He graduated Middlebury College, VT, where he majored in Geography and was a member of Kappa Delta Rho. He married Marilyn Duprey, who preceded him in death, as did his brother Raymond and sister Doris. Hal worked as the executive marketing director for Armstrong World Industries here in Colorado, where Marilyn and he raised their five sons. Hal was a member of the Knights of Columbus.
Hal is survived by his wife Mary Windes Olson, sons and daughters-in-law David / Pattie, John / Sherry, Paul / Pam, Robert / Karen, James / Judy, grandchildren Ryan, Kristen, Kaley, Jeffrey, David, Luke, Katie, Heidi, Michelle, Colleen, Kevin, great-grandchildren Kaiden, Camdyn, nieces and nephews Gail, Janet, Raymond, Paul, Brad, Gary.

Hal will be laid to rest at Olinger Chapel Hill Cemetery, 6601 South Colorado Blvd, Centennial, CO 80121.
