Iris Alma McCandless

It is fitting to us that our mom departed from her earthly body early on Easter morning. She's now reunited in heaven with Jim, her husband, and our father.

Iris was an amazing mother to her five children. Although quiet and gentle, our mom was always a defender of all that is true and just. She was a talented pianist, playing most often by ear. She remained proficient at this talent until shortly before she left this earth. Iris was also an avid reader and usually had several books scattered around her reading chair.

She loved anything lemon-flavored and everything bright yellow, and our mom dearly loved her family. Most importantly, Iris loved the Lord her God with all heart, soul, mind, and strength, and she taught her children to do the same.

Iris is survived by her three sons (Steve, David & Don) and two daughters (Jenny & Nancy), as well as her six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

We will miss our Mom dearly, but we look forward to seeing her again in Heaven.
