He was a participant in his life: a talented basketball player, golfer, and bowler; an enthusiastic lawn mower, snowblower, and gardener; a master at grilling steaks for dinner; and everywhere he lived and worked, he became part of that community.
He enjoyed Notre Dame football, travelling, visiting his family and friends; he loved going to the mountains in the summer; he loved watching sunsets in the backyard; he loved sharing his home and favorite tourist spots when family and friends came to visit.
He was a loving, thoughtful, generous, kind and caring man who loved his wife and son with his whole heart, and who touched the lives of everyone he knew with his bright spirit.
Those of us privileged to know him will cherish and treasure his memory and feel blessed in the life he so graciously shared with us.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.olingerchapelhill.com for the Rief family.
