Jan is survived by her son Larry Fuller and wife Barbara from Aurora, Colorado, their daughter Briana Bell and husband DJ; daughter Lori Slater and husband Bill of Ponca City, Oklahoma, their children Grant, Becky and husband Chris, and James B. “JB” Slater; and daughter Leslie Franz and husband Keith of Highlands Ranch, Colorado; and her sister Constance “Connie” Campbell of Denver, Colorado. She is preceded in death by her husband James Kenneth “Ken” Fuller of Centennial, Colorado; parents John Vitullo of Niagara Falls, New York and Elsie Vitullo of Englewood, Colorado; and sister Margaret Evans of Englewood, Colorado.
Jan was born on August 16, 1928 in Niagara Falls, New York. At the age of 16, she moved with her mother and sister to Englewood, Colorado. She graduated from Englewood High School in 1946 and followed working full time at Colorado Central Power Company. While employed at Colorado Central Power Company she met Ken Fuller. They married on March 16, 1951. The three children followed beginning in May of 1953 over the next eight years. She resigned her position after the first child and became a full time mother and homemaker.
Jan had many interests including league bowling with girlfriends as well as an evening league with Ken. Dancing and entertaining were often highlights over the years. Once Jan graduated from high school, she continued to meet monthly with her high school girlfriends for over 50 years. They then managed to have “birthday” gatherings twice a year for several years. Although activities kept her very busy, her focus was on her children and she welcomed them home from school every day with a smile and a hug.
Her kids have many fond memories including nightly dinners together as a family, and holiday gatherings with extended family. Each year, Jan and her mom started baking Christmas cookies in October, making countless varieties of delicious cookies that turned into beautiful cookie trays for friends and family.
The Fuller residence was one of the gathering places for the kids and their friends. Many hours were spent with friends and family around food and fun, still reminisced about fondly and with many laughs. For Jan, the most important thing was family, and providing a loving home, not only for her family, but also for her extended family made up of so many people she loved.
