Alan keeps asking me why I have not submitted message for Jeff. Well I do not have anything to say because I already told Jeff how I felt when he was here with us. Every time I saw Jeff I always gave him a hug and whispered in his ear “I love you, Jeff” and he just gave me that cute smile and said “I know”. When I was going through chemo for breast cancer Jeff called and wanted to know how I was doing and he told me that he loved me I answer with “I love you, Jeff”. Jeff always told me to have faith in God during this sad period in my life, to pray and that he too was praying for me. So you see Jeff may have left us but he knew I loved him because I never let him forget.

I have taken almost a full year to decide what I will do for a tattoo in remembrance of you. I decided to pull an old card that you wrote to me and take a piece of what you wrote and have that made into a tattoo. The most perfect that it can be, because it's your handwriting and because it's words I can hold on to. I still miss you just as much as anyone can imagine, I hope you know that. I don't like how things are being handled in your behalf but I know that there is a good, powerful, all knowing GOD and he will take care of you while you are with him as well as unfinished business here. I hope it's soon, there is so much of you that can be remembered and shared. I hold on to memories most, because unlike them, I have them. I love you Jeff, come see me soon.

Uncle Jeff,

It has taken me months to be able to get on here and write to you. I talk to you every day as you know but it will never be the same as sitting with you in your house, on the blue couch a coke in hand for me and a beer for you. I always gave you such a hard time for eating terrible food, drinking and smoking. That's because I wanted you here and for nothing to take you away from me prematurely. Who am I though to try and play GOD? He needed you more. I know you are still with me everyday but it doesn't help the pain. It is not the same. I miss your laugh, your immeasurable acts of kindness, our talks, your talking sense into me when I was irrational and childish, me collecting your abundance of change and cashing it in because you wouldn't, I miss our dinner dates at Red Lobster with conversations of hooking you up with a wife... I could go on forever. I just miss you, I think what I struggle with most is the fact that I did not get to say goodbye and to tell you how much I loved you and what you meant to me. I struggle because I feel like this could have been prevented if I were there, but I try to hold onto my faith and know that you are needed for bigger and better things. There isn't a day that passes that I don't think of you and cry often. Everything is still so fresh and my heart just aches. You spoke to me in my dream once, soon after. I know that was for a closure but I'm selfish I guess and would like to see you again, that hug seemed so real. Maybe it was? I am glad I have pictures with you and my son so that I can tell him that he did get to meet you, and that you loved him as much as me. I put the teddy bear vase that you bought for me as a baby in his room and I will have him keep it and pass to his first born. I am glad you held on to it for me for so long. I have a true keepsake. I will never be okay with you not being here, but I will always have something to look forward to. One day I will see you again, but until then... I'll see you in my dreams. I love you so very much uncle Jeff. I miss you <3

Jeff, you will always be alive in my heart.  You were my best friend for 30+ years, and I will cherish those memories forever! I loved you like my own brother. Even though we drifted apart after I got married, I will never forget the privelege it was to have you as my best man for the wedding!  You were the most generous person I ever knew.  I know GOD created a special place for you and I know I will see you again at the time of his choosing...GOD BLESS YOU!  You will be and ARE missed!!!
