Jimmy Claud Martin, age 81, of Greenwood Village, Colorado passed away on Tuesday, October 2, 2018. Jimmy was born October 9, 1936. He is preceded in death by his son, Scott Collins Martin; parents, Elizabeth (Bowles) Kinney and Claud A. Martin; and nephew, George Martin. Jimmy is survived by his wife of 56 years, Carolyn K. Martin of Greenwood Village, CO; daughter, Julie (Kenneth) Cohen of Englewood, CO; granddaughters, Skylar and Kamryn Cohen; sister, Marilyn Seidel of San Antonio, TX; 3 brothers, P.K. (Etta Mae) Martin of Spring, TX, C.A. (Sandra) Martin of Hunt, TX, and Tommy (Cynthia) Martin of Nashville, TN; numerous nieces and nephews and other loving family and friends.
Jimmy had a successful career in sales, and was very outgoing and social. His love of people, and connecting with individuals, was evident throughout his entire life. He enjoyed travel, music, playing craps and buying scratch tickets, snorkeling, learning about cooking, and watching any and all sports. Most of all, just like his son, Scott, he loved helping others. A true family man and man of God, he will be greatly missed by all.
A visitation will be held from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm, Thursday, October 11, 2018 at Olinger Chapel Hill Mortuary and Cemetery, 6601 S Colorado Blvd, Centennial, CO 80121. A funeral service will begin at 2:00 pm, followed immediately by a committal service in the cemetery. A Celebration of Life reception will be held in the Summit Room at 3:30 pm.
