Joan Davis-Lucero, 91, passed away on September 16, 2023. Joan was born in Montezuma, Iowa on December 19,1931 to the late Everett Freeborn and Zephyr Legolda Hudson. Joan was the 2nd youngest of 12 children in the Freeborn household. She graduated from Montezuma High School in 1950.
She served her country in the Marine Corps during the Korean War, honorable discharged 10/9/1952.
Joan started her family in 1953 in Iowa with the birth of her daughters Linda and Connie. Her journey continued with a move to California in 1957 having her first son, Mark. Eventually moving to Colorado in 1966 to complete her mission, having her second son, Rob.
She sold Home Interior products, which she of course excelled at, becoming one of the top sellers in the company. She loved dancing, football, and baseball.
Loving, caring, amazing, brilliant, beautiful, fearless are just a few of the adjectives that could describe her.
She is survived by her children Linda (Tom) Kerin, Connie (Jim) Taylor, Mark (Jacque) Olson and Rob (Annette) Davis; seven grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
We are blessed with her as our mentor and have and will continue to make her proud.
