John “Jack” Conklin, 93, of Aurora, Colorado, passed away peacefully at home on February 17, 2026, surrounded by loved ones. Born on June 20, 1932, in Xenia, Ohio, he spent the majority of his life in Colorado, graduating from West High School.
Jack is survived by his devoted wife of 68 years, Joyce; his daughters, Terri (John) Armstrong and Mary Elizabeth (Bill) Stenzel; his son‑in‑law, Gary Hubbard; nine grandchildren; six great‑grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Bessey Conklin; his daughter, Tammy (Gary) Hubbard; his grandsons, Charles Colvin and Garrett Hubbard; his brother, Barry; and his sister, Judith.
Jack lived a long, full life marked by kindness, dedication, and a memorable sense of humor. His quick wit and easy warmth made him a joy to be around. He found happiness in flying, painting, listening to classical music, tinkering with tractors, and trying his luck at the slot machines.
A gifted woodworker and devoted landscaper, Jack transformed every home he lived in with handcrafted gazebos and peaceful backyard ponds—spaces where family and friends naturally gathered. Through these creations, he shaped not only wood and gardens but also the memories cherished by all who shared those moments with him.
More than anything, Jack treasured time with the people he loved. His stories, jokes, and gentle presence brought comfort and laughter, leaving behind a legacy of joy that will be deeply missed.
Jack’s memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him.
A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.
