I only met John over the phone, he was counseling me on applying to and entering Graduate school. We hit it off, shared cop some stories, and he motivated me to complete the paperwork and apply. I’m sure he was an even nicer guy in person and I would like to offer my condolences.

My thoughts and prayers go out to Johns family. I met John in the 1980’s through my boss Dean Fountain who I worked for at Glendale Police. I often heard Dean talk about fishing trips he took with some of his friends that were Englewood Officers, and I met many of them during that time. In 2001 I began as the Records Supervisor for Englewood Police and John was one the first Officers to welcome me on board. He often came into Records to check on me and see if everything was going well or if I needed anything. I will always have fond memories of John, his smile and his large stance in his Englewood Motorcycle Uniform. May he rest in peace.

There isn't an important moment of my life that Big John wasn't a part of in some way, he was always there to show his love and support for not just me, but for my entire family. I'll forever cherish every memory I have with him, and will spend my life wondering if he really ate that moth camping ☺. The sound of his laughter is forever engraved on my heart. I love and miss him dearly and will be by his family's side the same way he was always by mine. Love you all ❤
