Juanita Maxine Simonson Bett, 90, of Denver, passed away on July 8, 2019 at Porter Hospice Residences in Centennial. She was born on July 1, 1929 in Cherryvale, Kansas, the daughter of Robert Alonso Simonson and Margaret C. Price.
She graduated from Kingman High School, class of 1947. On September 3, 1949 in Omaha, Nebraska, Juanita married the love of her life, Robert Lawrence Bett. She was a devoted bible study participant, a member of Daughters of the American Revolution, and Colonial Dames for over 30 years, and had recently discovered her talent for watercolor painting and pastel drawing. She was a caring, loving, giving, kind, compassionate, empathetic, and bright individual who will be deeply missed.
Juanita is preceded in death by her husband, Robert (2010); sisters, Marie Bloesser (1994), Lavonne Swingle (1981), and Lucille Mueller (2010); brothers, Wilbur (1927) and Garland (2000). I’ve known Juanita since I was a small girl on Sherman Street. She was always there to braid or fix my hair. My friend and her next door neighbor Jean always got cookies from Juanita. I loved visiting with her and Bob after they moved to Porter Place. . I will miss my Sherman Street lady. Many prayers for her family. I will always love her. Dena
