Tomi was born in Spokane, Washington on May 8, 1945 but was raised with her brother Bill Thomas in Van Nuys, California. She graduated from Van Nuys High School and then attended Valley Junior College where she met her husband Pat Ward and they were married for 47 years before he passed in 2015.
She later moved to Littleton, Colorado with her husband and kids where she remained until she passed. She spent her free time with friends and family in her backyard which was also known by many as Wardland.
In California before she had her children she worked with a photography studio which she really enjoyed. After moving to Colorado she spent her time as a stay at home mom raising her own children as well as caring for neighbors and family lending a hand wherever she could. After losing her husband she became a paraprofessional at Bradford K-8 intermediate school where she worked for the last 7 years.
Tomi was a caring and loving person and anyone who knew her can attest to her strong spirit and great sense of humor. She welcomed everyone with open arms and always looked at the bright side of things. She truly was a light in many people's lives. She will be dearly missed by everyone who had the opportunity to cross paths with her.
