

Karen M. Moreno, 78, of Centennial, Colorado, passed away on February 7, 2026. Karen was born in Chicago, Illinois, on May 4, 1947, to Myrtis and Robert Rieck. She was the loving mother of Kimberly (Michael), Robin, and Anthony (Laura).
She was the cherished grandmother of seven, and the proud great-grandmother of three, with another great-granddaughter expected in July. She is survived by her brother, Donald Rieck, and her beloved cat, Ghost. She was preceded in death by her parents, Myrtis and Robert Rieck, and her sister-in-law, Mavis Rieck.
Karen dedicated 26 years of service to Xanterra Parks & Resorts, where she worked in the Corporate Payroll Department, building lasting friendships, and took great pride in her work. After retiring on February 2, 2022, she continued working with the company as a part-time employee, maintaining the connections and work she valued so deeply.
Karen was a proud mother and grandmother who took great joy in her children’s and grandchildren’s lives and accomplishments. She especially loved traveling and sharing adventures with family and friends, creating many cherished memories along the way. Karen was known for her generosity with family, friends, and neighbors. She will be remembered for her feistiness, her lively personality, and her dedication to those she loved. Her legacy lives on in the traditions she created, the adventures she inspired, and the strong family she built.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Olinger Chapel Hill, Mountain View Room, 6601 S. Colorado Blvd., Centennial, CO 80121, on May 9, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm.
