Kathleen Mary Phillips Degiorgio, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away unexpectedly in her home on May 4, 2022. She was born on November 22, 1945, in Salt Lake City, Utah. She grew up in Salt Lake and graduated from Judge Memorial High School in 1963.
Kathy married Fred Degiorgio on January 11, 1969. Kathy is survived by Fred, her 2 children Chris and Leslie, their spouses Cathy and Don, and her 5 grandchildren Maddie, Jack, Ryan, Meghan, and Molly.
Kathy was loved dearly. She was warm, quiet, kindhearted, humble, patient, selfless. She found great meaning and strength in her Catholic faith. Her whole heart was always on reserve for her children and grandchildren. She was a GIFTED writer, who easily found simple, beautiful ways to express her love to those most important to her. Over her life living in cities across the country, she raised her children with grace, she enjoyed part time work as a legal secretary, and she collected a growing list of close lifelong friends that never left her address book, each of which knew they could count on getting a thoughtful, personalized, handwritten, Christmas card from her each year. She loved playing bridge, scrabble, doing puzzles, watching Notre Dame football. She was NEVER more than an arm’s length from a bottle of Diet Pepsi.
We treasure our memories of her, and the values she instilled in us. So she lives on.
A memorial mass for Kathy will be held Wednesday June 29, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at St. Thomas More Catholic Church , 8035 S. Quebec Street, Englewood, CO 80112. A small luncheon will follow.
