

Kathryn was born in Salt Lake City, Utah to parents Martha Martineau and Harvey Orson Snow. She was the great granddaughter of Erastus Snow who came over with Brigham Young to found Salt Lake City. She had an older brother, John (Jack) Snow, who preceded her in death. Kathryn attended the University of Utah and served as President of the Tri Delta Sorority during her time there. She graduated and married Robert Yarabeck in 1950 and moved to Kansas City, enjoying the life as full-time mother to children John and Ann Yarabeck. The family moved to Denver, Colorado in 1966, where Kathryn became an active volunteer in Girl Scouting, church activities, PTA, and was a founding member of the Hampden Heights Garden Club. She also pursued musical endeavors including Hand Bell Choir and singing in the Harmomics Choir for many years. She devoted much of her time to Women’s Fellowship Group at church where she influenced the lives of many. Kathryn was an avid gardener and earned her Master Gardener certificate. She remained active into her 94th year continuing her love for flowers, music, family and friends. She will be remembered as being fiercely independent, creative, comforting, and willing to help.
Kathryn is survived by her son, John Yarabeck, his wife Rachel and daughter Caroline, and daughter Ann Martin, her husband Greg Martin and son James Martin. Kathryn was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bob (Robert) Yarabeck who died in 1996. A celebration of life will take place at Olinger Chapel Hill Mortuary for close friends and family on August 4, 2017 at 10 a.m.
